Don’t put that snow shovel away.
Environment Canada has issued Freezing Rain Warnings for parts of southwestern Saskatchewan, while Snowfall Warnings are in place for central and eastern parts of the province including Saskatoon and area as well as Prince Albert.
Snowfall totals are expected to be between ten and 15 centimetres, tapering off Monday evening.
Meanwhile a low in northern Montana is also spreading an area of mixed precipitation including freezing rain to areas in southern Saskatchewan. The area impacted stretches from the Albert border to west of Moose Jaw and north, heading up Highway 11, to Craik.
The freezing rain may accumulate quickly before moving off later Monday morning, but surfaces will remain an icy hazard until temperatures climb above zero.
