It is with extremely heavy hearts that Huskie Athletics has learned of the passing of a pair of former football players, Matthew Baraniuk and Samwel Uko. “Everyone within our Huskie football family is stunned and incredibly saddened at the loss of these young men,” said Huskies head coach Scott Flory. “Right now, my thoughts are with their families, friends and teammates.” Baraniuk joined the Huskies by way of Centennial Collegiate in 2017-18 while Uko made his way to Saskatoon from Abbotsford, B.C. to play for the Green and White in 2018-19. The two passed in separate incidents. We encourage anyone in need of assistance during this difficult time to visit the online Student Wellness Centre. Huskie Athletics offers sincere condolences to the Baraniuk and Uko families as well as all those close to them. We ask that you please respect the privacy of the teammates of these young men during this time.
