Today’s candidate profile for the upcoming civic election features Darcy Warrington who is running in Ward 7.
He is a music and physical education teacher with Saskatoon Public Schools who describes himself as an energetic candidate, bringing enthusiasm to whatever he does.
Warrington would like to see new ideas and new perspectives at City Hall.
His 3-3-3-3 platform is to decrease his salary by 3 per cent over 3 years, and shift that money to charity donations in Ward 7 for things like a rink or an accessible playground.
He promises to make sure there are no tax increases of more than 3 per cent for 2 consecutive years and he will vote against any hike that is higher than that.
Another plank in Warrington’s platform is re-allocating 0.1 per cent of the police budget to hire and train bylaw officers, to take on things like noise complaints and quarantine checks, leaving officers to be deployed more effectively elsewhere.
The civic election is November 9th.
