Anjum Saeed, who is running in Ward 10, is a civil engineer with more than twenty years of experience in urban planning and design and municipality construction. Saeed suggests that could be an advantage on Council.
His first priority is a leisure centre to be built in Ward 10 because there isn’t one in the area right now. Saeed says his second priority is advocating for a zero per cent increase in property taxes next year. Another, is increasing the speed limit to 80 kilometres per hour along McOrmond Drive with the northeast swale but also including dedicated wildlife travel corridors.
While knocking on doors, Saeed says he has also been hearing concerns about needing more police presence in the Ward, because residents are seeing more vandalism, so that is something he will push for.
