The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League’s 2020-21 season will not have a conclusion.
The league released a statement (see below) saying their submissions for a return to play to the provincial government and Saskatchewan Health Authority had been rejected. The statement adds the current COVID-19 conditions in the province wouldn’t allow a return now or in the next few weeks. Reports had the S-J-H-L ready to begin a five-to-seven team bubble in Weyburn as soon as possible with the teams playing 15-to-17 games. Now, the S-J-H-L says it will set its sights on returning to play in September.
