The Saskatchewan Health Authority has declared outbreaks at Brevoort Park School and Tommy Douglas Collegiate.
Classes will continue as scheduled Wednesday and Thursday, before the Easter break begins on Friday.
To date, the school division has been notified of three positive cases of COVID-19 at Brevoort Park School. Tommy Douglas Collegiate has had 15 cases this school year.
The SHA has identified the most recent cases at both schools as probable COVID-19 variants of concern. The SHA is encouraging all students and staff members to get tested. .
Since the start of the school year, Saskatoon Public Schools has had 273 positive cases at 54 locations in the division – 53 schools and the board office.
Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools has been told by the Saskatchewan Health Authority of a positive COVID-19 case in an individual at Bethlehem Catholic High School that is being investigated as a possible Variant of Concern. SHA recommends that all close contacts get tested. Risk of exposure for anyone not considered a close contact remains low.
The affected cohort will switch to online learning.
