London, Ontario Police believe that a family run down by a pick up truck were targeted because of their Islamic faith. They also say there is evidence the attack was planned, premeditated and motivated by hate.

One 9 year old boy survived but a 74 year old woman, a 46 year old man, a 44 year old woman and a 15 year old girl all died, after a pick up truck mounted the curb and hit the five family members waiting to cross the intersection.

The suspected driver was placed under arrest approximately 7 kilometres away from the scene and Nathaniel Veltman, 20 years old, of London, Ontario, has been charged with four counts of first degree murder and one count of attempted murder.
