Over the past year and a half, Meewasin Valley Authority has been collaborating with stakeholders to learn about First Nation and Metis history around the appreciation of nature. CEO Andrea Lafond says the results are a free phone app to enhance your experience in the valley.
She explains that the content available right now is about the Northeast Swale, with information on site which will give you the opportunity to go to the app to learn more and hear stories about the land. The app’s content will be updated regularly.
Lafond notes that his project is part of the MVA’s reconciliation efforts, recognizing the knowledge of the traditional caretakers of this land. Funding was provided by the federal government through Western Economic Diversification Canada’s Canadian Experiences Fund.
