The fall sitting of legislature began this week in Saskatchewan with an independent MLA

Nadine Wilson from the Sask. Rivers Constituency is now an independent after stepping down from the Saskatchewan Party earlier this month over her vaccination status.

Wilson says she’s heard from several residents from the province after stepping down from the Sask. Party. “I know as an independent I’ve never been more busier in my office, emails and phone calls, which is good, people are reaching out and I’ve seemed to struck a chord with some residents of Saskatchewan who are possibly not being heard.”

The residents that have contacted are more than concerned about the possibility of receiving a vaccination according to Wilson. “The public that have lost their jobs, parents are crying they’re taking their children out of schools, good public crown employees who have decided to not have their say in an experimental drug, these are the calls I hear daily.” Wilson added “It’s not about the vaccination anymore, it’s about the control that’s taking over their lives or the lack of control that they have.”

Wilson noted that she has received calls from the outside of the provincial border coming as far as Ontario and Washington D.C. from people who interested in the current political landscape in Saskatchewan.

When it comes to any possible political affiliation in the future, Wilson said that all options are on the table.
