A 52 year old man who was the subject of a Canada-wide warrant after allegedly abducting his seven year old daughter made his first court appearance today (Tues) in Regina. Michael Gordon Jackson is charged with abduction in contravention of a custody or parenting order.
The child’s mother has said previously that she hadn’t heard from her daughter since mid-November and that she had wanted to get their daughter vaccinated against COVID-19, but he didn’t. The mother and daughter have since been reunited.
RCMP reported last Thursday that officers spotted Jackson and his daughter in a vehicle parked outside of a business in Vernon, British Columbia. Jackson has been remanded until his next court date on Thursday, to give him time to find a lawyer.
