Minister responsible Don McMorris says the Victoria Day weekend is the perfect opportunity to learn about Saskatchewan’s connection with Queen Elizabeth II.
Today (friday) at Government House in Regina, to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubillee, there will be the official public opening of the Queens Diamond Jubilee Portrait, the official opening of an exhibit that explores the artist’s 2-year process to paint the portrait. It will be an official opening of Platinum on the Prairie which is an interactive exhibit about Queen Elizabeth, her husband Prince Philip the Duke of Edinburgh and their six visits to the province.
As well there will be a family celebration on Monday May 23 to mark Queen Victoria’s 203 birthday.
