A plane taking off from Edmonton is heading to Ukraine with supplies, including 250 field trauma kits from a Saskatchewan fundraising project called TK-500. That’s because the goal is to supply 500 trauma kits.
One of the organizers, Dave Dutchak notes that the kit is a practical way to support Ukraine’s efforts to defend itself against Russia. It includes things like a blood pressure cuff, a stethoscope, trauma bandages and other medical supplies. TK-500 is partnering with the Ukrainian Canadian Congress of Saskatchewan on this project. Donations can be made through the UCC Saskatchewan website.
Dutchak thanks the people who have donated to date, saying it sends a message to the people of Ukraine that we are here and we care. The organizers behind this project are the founders of the “Ambulances to Ukraine” project in 2016, which sent 14 ambulances to that country.
