A provincial memorial service is tonight for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on this National Day of Mourning.
It will be held at 7 p.m. at St. Paul’s Anglican Cathedral in Regina and the commemorative service is open to the public.
Dignitaries including Lieutenant Governor Russ Mirasty and Premier Scott Moe will be attending. Doors open at 5:30 and it’s general seating, meaning first come, first served.
A news release from the Office of the Lieutenant Governor says should it be needed, there will be additional seating in the adjoining parish hall with closed circuit television. It will also be live streamed over St. Paul’s Facebook page.
Saskatoon Mayor Charlie Clark says flags at City Hall were raised for His Majesty’s Accession and are now lowered again until the day of the funeral for Queen Elizabeth II.
Afterwards, they will remain at half-mast until each life lost at James Smith Cree Nation and Weldon has been acknowledged.
For members of the public who wish to express their condolences for Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, a condolence book will be available in the lobby of City Hall during regular business hours.
