The active and retired police and peace officers of the province will gather in Regina tomorrow (sun) for the annual Saskatchewan Police and Peace Officers Memorial.
In 1988, the Government of Canada officially proclaimed the last Sunday in September as Canadian Police and Peace Officers’ National Memorial Day.
A parade ceremony has been held in Regina since 2004 to recognize this day.
The Parade of Officers will start at 10:30 a.m. at the Royal Saskatchewan Museum located at College Avenue and Albert Street. The Parade will continue south on Albert Street to the Legislative Building. The Wreath Laying Ceremony will take place on the front steps of the Legislative Building at 11:00 a.m.
The public is invited to gather along the parade route as well as in front of the Legislative Building for the reading of the Honour Roll and the Wreath-laying Ceremony.
