The grand total is in after TeleMiracle 48 wrapped up in Regina at 5 p.m. on Sunday, with the 20-hour telethon netting donations amounting to $6,112,717. This year’s event raised more than six-million dollars surpassing last year’s total by nearly 600-thousand dollars.
Seventy-five performers from across the province participated in this year’s event, which raised money for people in Saskatchewan who need funds to travel for life-saving medical care or who need life-changing medical or mobility equipment.
Donations go to the Kinsmen Foundation, which processes over 1000 applications from people in Saskatchewan every year.
TeleMiracle 49 will be held next March in Saskatoon. The annual telethon has raised over $165 million since its inception in 1977.
