The 14-month contract impasse between S-E-I-U-West members employed by LutherCare Communities Group Homes has ended.
The President of S-E-I-U-West, Barbara Cape, says, “The employer finally came to our members with a reasonable offer that we were willing to take to a vote. The members have voted to accept the offer.”
The Memorandum of Agreement contains the wage increase that S-E-I-U-West members had been asking for plus paid recognition of the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation as a statutory holiday. In addition, concerns regarding scheduling were resolved in agreement.
S-E-I-U-West members had removed some of their services on April 22 to LutherCare Communities Group Homes and escalated that action on April 29.
