The provincial government states in a news release that on October 1st, Saskatchewan’s minimum wage will increase from $14 an hour to $15. Right now, Manitoba’s minimum wage is $15.30 and Alberta’s is $15. The federal minimum wage is $17.30 an hour.
Labour Relations Minister, Don McMorris, says, “Increasing minimum wage is one way we are supporting workers in this province. Saskatchewan also continues to have among the lowest personal taxes in Canada.” He notes that there were no new taxes or tax increases in this fiscal year’s provincial budget.
