The holidays are over, the bills have arrived and it seems to be dark all the time. It’s that time of year that can really get you down, but it doesn’t have to. The Director of Visitor Experience and Public Programming with Saskatchewan Parks, Deanna Jacobs, suggests embracing the winter and getting outside, surrounding yourself with the beauty of one of the province’s parks.
You can try snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, tobogganing, bird watching, photography walks, winter camping, or ice fishing as a few examples. There are special winter events lined up at many of the parks this year, including a guided snowshoe hike followed by a bonfire at Meadow Lake Provincial Park on January 11th, a candle-lit ski at Moose Mountain Provincial Park and a skating loop through the campground at Echo Valley Provincial Park.
